A supportive spouse is always a good first step. 'Cause once you've plunked down a grand or two for gear, the ROI won't be coming in buckets first off.

Also, are you really ready to handle the huge amount of rejection that's a normal part of this business? Seriously. Can your ego take the year or two of the seemingly endless replies of, "Thanks, but no thanks." until you start to build a client list? You're all juiced now. But will you be during those lean times when it's all you can do to get arrested? Think it hard and seriously. Because it's a very normal part of this biz.
