just an update on the nose situation:
I should have listened to Banksey from the start. It is definitely a sinus infection. And I'm just NOW starting to get over it. I did exactly what he said not to do and tried to "soldier on" - not a good idea!
That week of Monday the 13th was crazy:
I had the audition on Monday, Scene Study class rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon, Scene Study class on Tuesday night (6PM-11PM), a radio production on Wednesday, THREE auditions on Thursday, Friday I took off, but the very next day I had an evening session from 5PM-8PM. Rested on Sunday only and this week back to work in this unpredictable business.
Since I was too stupid to go to the doctor (because I convinced myself that I didn't have time), I suffered through the week and picked up the following to get through (or so I thought I was getting through):
- Ricola Echinacea/Orange drops - they taste good
- Jolly Rancher "Frutas Enchiladas" - probably not a good thing to have had, it's fruit with hot-ass spices
- Afrin "No Drip" (yeah) Nasal Pump Mist - it works for hours and opens you up almost instantly, but about 12 hours later, your dripping orange stuff out of your nose and it won't stop - scared the sh*t out of me... will never use again
Needless to say, I didn't book any of these auditions, no callbacks, and the only thing that made me money that week were the radio productions. My time would have been better spent taking the week off.
So there you go guys... when you're sick, take a break.
I'm finally calling the doctor tomorrow... right before I go to another audition in the afternoon.

Anthony, if it's any consolation, I had what sounds like the same thing a few weeks ago, and did a good deal of resting and still ended up on antibiotics.
Afrin got me through the misery stage of it - the "old fashioned" variety - no orange drips (weird!).
Take care of yourself! |

thanks, ladies. i plan on resting ALL weekend.
i just bought the Deluxe Edition of the original "The Producers" with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder on DVD (2-disc set) so I'll be watching that.
Oh, and Mary, yeah I bought the original one as well, but the orange drip I heard is... (hope you're not eating breakfast)... a combination of something RED and something YELLOW - I'll leave it at that.
