Lou,
My Firefox 2.0.0.12 shows the bar and gradation all the way across now, too. And can't you just flip the graphic? Or am I missing something? _________________ Be well,

Thanks Bob!
Yes, I can just flip it...I was just commenting that it looks strange to me when flipped (since I'm so used to seeing it the other way), so I was going to look at the other versions of him that I have, but that one still works better, even flipped, than the others. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Lou,
I suppose the other option then is to leave him as it and put him on the other side, so he's looking toward and not away from the site? _________________ Be well,

No, I'm gonna flip him...I've had time to get used to it...the healing has begun...

Looking good on my iMac running OS X 10.3.9 (I know I have 10.4 to install when I get to it) and Netscape 9.0.0.5.
A couple of notes though. "the info" text on the title page is a bit too small and hard to read, for me at least. Maybe an age thing.
Also, I would prefer that your demos played on the page without having to open in another page. This seems to be the trend now-a-days.
Great site man. |

Thanks Jon!
Yeah, I'm gonna lighten the background color for that section so that it's easier to read.
I thought about playing the demos on the page, however, in the interest of making it easier (and without doing a separate 'plays on the page' and 'click here to download link') for people to download if they want to, I did it this way.
I may change it in the future, though.
Thanks again _________________ Lou Zucaro

Lou—
You might want to make your demos open into a blank page so people can close the demo and still have your webpage present. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

They should...they're just links to MP3 files (so that you can click to play or right-click to download)...when I click them, they just open in Windows Media Player.
What platform are you on?
Thanks!

Lou,
Overall, I think it looks excellent, very clean in FireFox. I have just a few small comments.
The font you are using in the info area is very tiny. If you increase the font size by 1-2 pts. it might help with readability. I think you can increase the contrast just a bit more with a darker color font or you might try the blue on your palette against that background.
the Arrows for the Commercial and Character demos are not lined up (left-aligned), though that's a minor point.
the target for the demo links should open in a new window so you don't have to hit the browser back button to get back to your page.
I liked your "Voice Hero" branding. Are you abandoning that?

Thanks Joe,
Within the last half hour or so I made the background of the "info" section lighter to hopefully make the text pop more.
Arrows and text are center-aligned as a unit so to speak
DB mentioned something about the demo links not opening in separate windows, too. What platform / browser are you using?
Under Windows (XP, Vista), when I click them, they just open in Windows Media Player.
Thanks for the comments re: the Voice Hero thing...not really abandoning it as much as I am tempering it for a while. I'll bring it back with a greater presence at some point in the future. _________________ Lou Zucaro

Mac, using Safari, Firefox, Opera, Camino.
They open the file in the same browser window as the main page. I have to click the "back" button on the browser to get back to your page.
All too often, people will just close a browser page with a single MP3 playing on it, and if they do, they've lost your site.
All you have to do is instruct the file to open in a blank window.
Add "target="_blank" to the code that instructs the image map to call on the mp3:
Code: | <area href="media/LouZucaro_Commercial_1min.mp3" shape="rect" coords="14, 8, 189, 57" "target="_blank"> |

Ah, gotcha, didn't realize that this was sop on the Mac...much appreciated.
Ok, will instruct those to open anew. Although I need to figure out a better solution long-term because on the PC this has the icky side effect of leaving behind a purposeless, empty browser window. Blech.
Also, I've increased the font size of the "info" section on the home page.
Thanks again for all the comments folks! _________________ Lou Zucaro

It's working now. the _blank will force a new window each time. If you name the target i.e. _demo then both demos will target 1 window so you have 1 less extra window to worry about.
I'd still like to see those arrows aligned-left but hey, that's my me. _________________ Joe Rodriguez, Bilingual Voice Actor | The Voiceover Thespian Blog |
