Most sound engineers can't voice to save their lives and in any event it's about how a female voice compliments the mood of the trailer. Awful production work Connie, truly awful!!! But the quality of the voice work still shines through.
It's the guy/girl thing.
Guy "Was the mic at the right angle bearing in mind the tube compression was at 67.4db per square inch?"
Director "Could you sound like you're involved, like you care?"
Guy "I've got a GBIII Voice Dominatrix. Which button do I push to get involved/care enhancement?"
Director "Take 34...."
Guy "In a world ...."
Director "No, in a world, Jack" ..............
Performance is King and that makes Connie Queen! |

Great Voice Connie! With that being said..... I do notice that Movie Trailers seem to lack a certain PUNCH without a Male Voiceover. I guess that's why you only hear Men doing them. Never gave it much thought until now.

| With a few exceptions Hollywood has fallen into the "One trick pony approach" to movie trailers. A number of releases this year alone needed punch like they needed all 17 of their Executive Producers. The first woman to get a job as the voice of a movie trailer, if she and the movie are any good, will find herself overwhelmed with work. |

Bailey,
That was great! it shows that we only need to do a VO one time and now we can make almost an unlimited amont of trailers, commercials, uh... narrations... out of it... does that mean we get paid more for the first spot?

This thread is whacked -- cannot get most of the links -- including the original trailer elements.

This is thread is from waay back in 2006. However, my take ended up on my "trailers" reel - I decided to include it along with the two "real" jobs on the reel: http://www.FilmVO.com _________________ Travis

Yeah, this is why I discourage resurrecting old threads, and put an "old post" alert in the title. _________________ DBCooperVO.com
