It may be painful to see this outside view of your work and event, but think of it this way: it's life giving you the test before it teaches the lesson.

Thank you for the personal invitation, Amy. I really wish I could make it. My training budget is proactively spoken for, with Bob Bergen coming to Atlanta in a scant 5 weeks. A future FaffCamp is definitely in the cards for me, though.

I was actually bragging on the group here on the board yesterday, at a local VO networking lunch that I regularly attend. There were a few newcomers, and I was doing my darnedest to describe what I've observed of the group in my short time contributing in the discussions. The best I was able to put to words is that if approaches to one's own voiceover career were converted into terms of a political discussion, I'd say the VO-BB crowd is approximately Libertarian in philosophy. Not decidedly hardline to one persuasion or another: Mac vs PC; Union vs Non-union, etc. By and large, everyone assumes the responsibility for their own businesses, and it's tacitly understood that my rights as an individual end where yours begin. I think that's why I like it here so much. Smile

(Note: My analogy confused 40% of the people at the table, but I suspect that it has something to do with their misunderstanding of the basic tenet of liberty. Plus one dude had dabbled in Scientology at a point, and he was all over the place).
