Hi Jon,
I just uploaded a new demo and it wouldn't play on the upload screen, but when I went to my profile page it played fine.
I know it's got to be frustrating, but hopefully they'll get these kinks worked out.
Good Grief! _________________ John Weeks Voice Overs

Good Grief indeed.
Thanks again John.
Well, I just tried the same scenario with Netscape and the same file and it uploaded fine. I was using Firefox on Mac OS X so maybe it is a browser issue.
I'll have to see what the Voices.com folks have to say. |

I'm on a PC with Internet Explorer. So maybe that's it.

Today is the first day I've replied to some leads... wowza.
I'm sure they're working fast and furious to get all of this repaired. _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

still no leads from them. nor an answer to my inquiry.

Rowel and all,
I chatted online with Lin today. About receiving leads in your email inbox, she pointed out that the sending e-mail address had changed. She suggested I whitelist the new email addy on my email server - which I did.
Now, we'll see...
Oh yeah - new e-mail addy is: no-reply@voices.com
All else seems to be under control, at least for me. However, there's still too much clicking for my tastes. |

i've now been getting some leads as well, and managed to submit some auddys.
Now guess I just have start using that search box feature to try to filter some of the leads on the site so there are not so many to trawl through.

OK. So I've gotten one lead since 11/28. My preferences are set to receive all posts and not only have I received no emails, but nothing has shown on the website jobs listings either.

okay, i griped while things were disconnected, so i'll give equal time and pipe up when it appears the situation has improved.
not sure if it was doc's suggestion, dumb luck, or just the old american way of monkey-ing around with things until they work...but i'm finally starting to get email job notices again.
glad i have other things going on...and glad i don't have the headaches the voices.com people have been having since the "new and improved" switch was thrown. _________________ rowell gormon

The web site seem to be improving, but now I'm having a problem with static in my auditions in the preview section.
Are any of you having this issue?
Customer service has been great. She suggested my mp3 be 128 and 44, I was sending/saving at 48000, but I'll have to wait until I get another 'job' to audition to see if the 44000 sample rate will solve the static problem.

Room 222 right after the Brady Bunch and the Partridge Family then followed by Love American Style.
Least that's how wiki remembers it.
Anyway, I listened to the uploaded auditions via my 'daytime IP' (shhhh) and no static. I guess it's my problem at home. _________________ Craig Park

Well, except for the fact that it's slightly faster than the old version, IMVHO this new version is actually worse.
First of all, and I have brought this up a zillion times (yes, that many) with them, but why on earth is there a "Remember me" checkbox on the login screen and a "Sign me in automatically" checkbox in preferences when neither of these actually work. You have to manually sign in every time. Very annoying.
Second, you have to go into a lead to delete it, which is stupid. They let you say which $ levels of leads you don't want to get e-mail about, so why not hide them in the list, too? And why make me click three times (once to view, once to delete, once to confirm) when before we could just check off a bunch of cheapo leads and hit delete a single time from the main leads screen?
Third, why oh why aren't the lead details shown on the screen where you enter your bid?! This was annoyning before and it's still annoying. Especially because you have to go back to check their budget if you care about that sort of thing. Not to mention the other details not included on the reply page.
Those are just the biggies that I noticed in the first 5 minutes...you know, before I closed the browser and walked away shaking my head, wishing I had, oh, say, $299 to spend towards the nifty Trevor Carlton 30-edition giclee at Animation Art Gallery.
Anyway, I see the "new". Now I'm trying to spot the "improved". _________________ Lou Zucaro
