VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

You've probably been wondering why you haven't heard anything from us about VOICE 2008. Well, that's because we were waiting until we had something solid to tell you, but now is as good a time as any to let you know what's been going on over the past few weeks.

As you all know, we were all set to hold VOICE 2008 at the LAX Hilton in May (or so we thought). Although we hadn't signed the contract, we were confident that - after several weeks of negotiations - we were all set.

Oh, well! You know what they say about the best laid plans... We were literally within minutes of signing the contract when we got a phone call that completely changed everything! You've all heard the phrase "due to circumstances beyond our control..." Well in this case what happened was literally beyond our control - and the hotel's. I can't go into the details (so please don't ask), but the result is that we will NOT be at the LAX Hilton, and the dates for VOICE 2008 will NOT be in May, 2008. However VOICE 2008 WILL be in Los Angeles. We just don't know exactly where... or when!

We're working diligently to find a suitable new venue and we're looking at dates in late July to mid-August. The actual dates will largely be dependent on the hotel's availability. We hope to have something definite by the end of October at the latest. If any of you have already started making plans for the May dates, we apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope the new dates (whatever they may be) will work for you.

We appreciate your support and we understand you are anxious. So, have no fear - VOICE 2008 will happen! Next update - when we know something. Smile

It's nice to hear it from the source rather than try to pick through the rumor-mill.

I know lots of people would love to come to the '08 version of VOICE, myself included!

Thank you for the update! I'd started my plans, but it's easier to change early out.

Ideas for the workshop: As a newbie, I'd like a workshop on 'making your voice sound the very best with what you have.' Perhaps this is another way of saying "an audio engineering workshop." LOL!

Thanks for organizing Voice 2008. It takes so much to put a convention together.

Looking forward to hearing the new date!
