Hi

I've just recorded a national TV ad in the UK and there was talk about it being broadcast in the US. However when extra costs were mentioned they backed down and said that now it probably wasn't going to be broadcast there after all.

This is a new client for me and while I'd like to trust them, I'd also like to be able to be sure. Is there any way of finding out if an ad has been broadcast on American TV?

What's the "product?" Perhaps an internet search for it might yield a result.

Other than some union work, very little is tracked in a way that could help you over here. Curt has a good idea though. People are promotion happy sometimes and you could search YouTube and the company's website here in the U.S., if they have a separate one, and may have some chance of easing or corroborating your concerns.
