Here are some shots of the upgraded console area at the studio. I finally installed the wire shelf and got the monitors up and out of the way.

This week I finished integrating a new Mac G5 (new to me anyway) and Pro Tools8 which required a Fast Track pro to get up and running.
The Mac workstation has a bunch of other graphics stuff on it and a trial copy of Twisted Wave (audio editor for Mac - you may love it - free to try).
The monitors actually handle three different workstations attached through KVM switches. There are two WinXP workstations for Adobe Audition and other software suites - as well as automation controls for the Zephyr.

I was able to clear up enough room to set up a long awaited dedicated student workstation on the far right, complete with its own mixer, mic, cans and editor. I set it up so local VO-learning people could get the opportunity to come in and do self study on the rig so they can get a real feel for the equipment and the editing process before they run out and buy a bunch of gear.
It's so much better than just telling them about it. They can actually come in and get their hands on stuff and learn - at their own pace - and not doink up all the settings on MY WORKSTATIONS...

So that's what I've been up to the last couple of days..

Cool! Is that an AKG c4000b and a c3000b? I really like those mics...4000 for commercial, 3000 for corporate narration. AKG just came out with a new version of the 3000...

I love my Yammy monitors too...enjoy! Smile

After watching the c3000 bounce off the floor for the third time in as many months I am reminded why I keep the AKGs out where people are bumbling around (usually me) and why I keep the Neumann in the booth. The AKG mics serve me well for Skype sessions and the occasional audition - but all the stuff that counts is done in the hot box...

I think it looks great Michael.

I have mixed feelings about seeing everyone's setups on here, though...I develop Gearitis more easily. Money Mouth

Thanks for the kind words Scott, Bob and Lance - I too wonder about "Showing Off" the studio - but I think it gives newer people something to strive for.. It's fun to share.. I can understand the studio envy thing - been going through it for years..
