Here's the morning sun melting the snow on the eastern side of the barn roof, and having it turn to steam in the frozen air.

Lookes like Sublimation to me. "Sublimation occcurs when a solid (ice, snow) changes from a solid state to a gas, while at no point becoming a liquid.
Still it look way cool.

| Since temps here in New England have been way above freezing lately I suspect that what Deirdre's barn was experiencing was well and truly steam. |
