I love Elf's Lament from Bare Naked Ladies. Possibly the best,, most complicated and satisfying rhyme scheme in any song EVAR.
And this is one I look forward to every year. I listen to this several times a year because it's just so coolk, but I can flog it shamelessly during the holidays.
Gary Hoey's Frosty The Snowman.
Super fine. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Andy Williams It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year is my all time fav.
However, growing up my Mom & Dad would gather us around and sing all of the Christmas Sing Along With Mitch Miller tunes. The album actually came with several copies of the lyrics so we could all "sing along with Mitch" _________________ Tony Impieri

Hands down my favorite is Silent Night. My wife Cinda and I sing it as a duet in church sometimes in the original German, Stille Nacht. _________________ Be well,

The scamp side of me likes I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus.
The performer in me likes doing Allan Sherman's The Twelve Days of Christmas with props and all (I'll have to dig up my video of that someday) and of course my version of I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas, available for your bemusement on the YouTubes: http://www.youtube.com/user/ecurbius#p/u/18/2A_F-HbZveY
The sentimental side of me likes a great church choir (like the one my Dad used to sing with) really doing up a classic like O Come All Ye Faithful, with the chest thumping power of a mighty church organ. Oh, the memories.

Thank you for reminding me. The Palestrina is my second favorite of all time. _________________ Be well,

"What's your favorite Holiday song?"
SNOOPY'S CHRISTMAS (vs. The Red Baron). I have to say this opinion was formulated when I was about six. _________________ www.asapaudio.com |

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. The man who wrote it, Ralph Blane, used to sing it for all of us during our practice before singing at Disney's Christmas Candlelight Procession (my choir was selected to sing in it for several years). He was an elderly and frail man, but every year, would climb up to the podium and treat us to his wonderful voice, which was not at all frail. Made me cry every time, and I was a teenager.
There are so many others I just love though... it's really difficult to say a single song is my favorite.
And, Mary, I fondly remember singing "Lo How a.." _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!

I have many favorite Christmas songs so it's too difficult for me to answer this question otherwise. But Glad: An Acappella Christmas (1991) is by far my favorite all-vocal Christmas album, and I have a rather sizable collection of a cappella music.
...which ties in directly with my reply to Jeffrey.
JeffreyKafer wrote: | I dare any of you to find a better rendition of Hark the Herald Angels Sing than this one, by The Blenders, my favorite a capella group. | I'll accept that challenge -- from the same album I mentioned above. Sorry, the full audio from the song isn't available on youtube or anywhere else but this 29-second preview on amazon (that I can find):
http://www.amazon.com/Acapella-Christmas-Glad/dp/B00000DPJL
But here's at least one full track from that same album:
"Glory To God" -- very few lyrics in this song, but it's a masterpiece of vocal arrangment -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihVyjhot6a8
And if you like the Blenders, you should really give the group Rescue a listen:
http://www.rescuemusic.com/
I'm proud to say I've known these guys for nearly a decade (and one of their former members is also a former co-worker of mine) and they just keep getting better all the time. Tight, lush harmonies, and brilliant arrangement really make them stand out from so many other a cappella groups.
Their 2001 Christmas album is a vocal gem that I think you must own, Jeffrey. There are audio previews on the Music page of their site. _________________ Publisher: Voice Actors in the News
