We haven't put up a tree this year and there are few decorations about the house as we'll be celebrating elsewhere. However, I awoke the other morning to find that my husband placed this ornament above the kitchen sink, where I spend a lot of time. It put me right in the holiday spirit. Has there been a defining moment for you or are you still waiting to be hit by the Holiday Bug?

If I did that or even suggested doing it, that would be a hanging offence right there and then, no appeal.

The Holiday Bug usually hits me at 7:00AM on Christmas morning. Then graciously leaves me about the same time next morning. I like the Christmas music, gifts, food, and eggnog... but it's been hard to jump into the deep end of the Christmas pool lately.

Hi Mandy, well, that bug outta be hitting you with all that snow you guys are going to get (or are getting).

I got bit a couple of days ago when we put up a little tree and our "festivus pole." Combined with a cozy fire, etc... etc. the bug just "bit"!

OMG, you bought a house with a festivus pole! Nice going.

We're being hit but it's really light. The wind is making it interesting, to say the least. So far our flight out of RI is still on for this evening. Fingers crossed! Making coffee this morning, looking up at my vo-bb ornament and feeling snug in the house on a snowy day makes me all holiday-giddy. Not that I'm normally a giddy person...

I'm not totally in the Spirit this year...it has been a tough year with my mom....but what helped was that we continued a tradition of actually cutting down our Christmas tree in a grove that's on a local farm near our house in Upstate NY...the lovely woman that owns it usually has one all picked out for us!...This year was no exception....Seeing her & her Spirit, and how energetic she is for her 70+ years really brings a smile....The tree in the garage & will probably be put up today. Smile ...May the Spirit move you!
