I have no idea on this one - anyone had to think about this before?
An upcoming eLearning project has a max file size of 300k per slide including all on-screen graphics
Is there any mystical conversion or calculation program that will allow me to know how much audio will fit into a 200-250k file size & still sound decent after compression? Is there a difference in file size between male and female (does one hold up better under compression than the other)?
Any info (on time/length or aprox number of words) will help the writer lay out the script in appropriate sized chunks.
Thanks VOBB group-mind! _________________ Adam

Besides the actual rate, I think it would be good to use an encoder with Variable Bit Rate if you size/quality ratio is very important.
Have a look here
http://www.mp3-tech.org/tests/gb/index.html
for rate vs quality.
I am sure I have a pretty definitive time/format/rate sheet somewhere, but damned if I can find it.

Sharply rolling off frequencies below 200Hz and above 10kHz will aid in the quality of sound after compression. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover
