VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

I've been on a PC platform and have used Sound Forge for years. I'm thinking of going to a Mac and wonder if anybody is using anything like Sound Forge on a Mac and what it is. I know that Pro Tools is out there but I don't need that much sophistication....I'm a "Voice Studio" not a production house.

I'm as "voice studio", too and I use Pro Tools LE...mostly because it's what I learned on.
Being Pro Tools compliant has its benefits--Some of the work I do allows me to upload entire sessions to a remote studio-- it makes them very happy.

In the mean time, you have some options.
Garage Band.
The Mackie Spike with Tracktion
I don't know what Peak and Deck from BIAS are like, but I do know a lot of folks use those apps.

If your needs are limited, I see people swearing by Audacity, and it's free.

GarageBand is a lot of fun for making beds. It's the reason I'm keeping a G4 around. I'd be interested in reading what the Peak and Deck folks have to say. I'd like to move all my software over to the Mac.

Logic Express also used garage band loops and has lots of good plug ins and automation...

Haven't ever seen it yet, but people I know have succesfully emulated a PC on the Mac, guess what... ran SoundForge 8.0 without any probs... I like Sound Forge as well as I have been using that since the first version was introduced. Nowadays I still do some editing in Sound Forge... but most of my work is in ProTools HD cool
