Greetings all,
It's been quite a stir up at the ol' French homestead these last weeks. Between Jen and I both being sick (first her, then me), the dog acting like a total spaz and uncertainty about our day jobs, it's been a mess!
It looks like we're going to be moving to the Manassas, Virginia area sometime in the very near future. Jen's a teacher by trade and I work in mental health, and they pay REALLLLLY well out that way, so hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Now THAT doesn't mean I've given up on VO, oh no! I'm still champing at the bit to get this little balloon off the ground and get it flying. It's just going to take a bit longer than before, even. BUT, being in that area, I'll have access to Washington DC (My old stamping ground), AND access to a professional studio within close proximity (not to mention agents, casting directors and the whole heartbeat of the nation. . .outside of NYC of course).
Jen and I couldn't be more excited. I'm sooooooooooooooo looking forward to getting back HOME! I know I only lived in the DC area for 3 years, but I consider it home because it was my first taste of life outside of Mom and Dad's house.
Anywho, I just thought that I'd give everyone an update, wether they wanted one or not. I sincerely hope that life is finding all of my VO friends healthy, wealthy and happy. I wish you all nothing but the very finest producers and the best copy! Oh, and a cat. . .they relieve stress.
That's it for now, see you on this board!

Chris--
I'm glad to see you're headed for greener, more familiar pastures.
There's nothing like making enough money to keep the ship afloat-- don't forget to take classes, get coaching when you can, and mostly
NEVER STOP PRACTICING.
Best of Luck!

Location may be the piece of this puzzle that you need, to bring your VO quest into a clearer view. Best of luck.

Chris, I lived in Fairfax for a couple of years in the late 80's. Went through Manassas on my way to work at a little radio station in Warrenton. I understand it's really grown quite a bit since. Best of luck to you both! _________________ Mary |
