I went to see The Shaggy Dog last weekend. Towards the end of the movie, there was courtroom scene. In a shot from behind, and to the side of the judge, you could see her microphone on the judges stand… no big deal. But I noticed that next to the mic was a Behringer mixer. It caught my attention, and puzzled me as to why it was there? Microphones are common in a courtroom, but are mixers?

It's hard to believe that any movie sound guy worth his salt would be using a Behringer...I mean, I have two of 'em, but I wouldn't do feature sound work with 'em.

More likely, they used a real courtroom and the real judge has a mixer there to amplify the sound of meek witnesses, or turn off his or her mike during sidebars.

Or control the audio on the entertainment system under the bench...for use during boring summations.

Easy, just steal it from me. I stole it from someone on another board. I think it was a "Snakes On a Plane" thread.

My best sculpture to date was a yin/yang motif, so I had to grab that avatar when I saw it!
