I've googled and YouTube'd and my other usual resources are coming up empty and it's now after hours to check with the client (who usually just guesses anyway). I'm passing these along to the talent who will record early in the morning. I'm trying to avoid having him do multiple versions, so I'm hoping someone here might know definitively. Here we go: My guesses follow, but they are just best guesses.
Minsoo Sohn: MINN-SOO-SONE
Honens (Int'l piano competition): HOE-nenz
Danit Warshaw: dah-NEET
Thanks. |

Minsoo sohn is Min soo sohn that might help some
Honens is Hōnen.
Danit is actually Dalit and is pronounced Dull it. Working on the upcoming Honens competition? |

Thanks, Greg.
Just to clarify, is your sohn the same as my sone (as in the farmer has sown his seed)?
Are you saying we shouldn't pronounce the "s" in Honens? And do you agree that the emphasis is on the first syllable?
And d'oh!, I had it written as Dalit, but somehow swapped an "n' for the "l". "DULL-it" it shall be.
To answer your question, no, these are for two separate performances being promoted. The Honens competiion is mentioned because The First Laureate of the Honens is one of Monsoo Sohn's honors. |

Don I couldn't find a pronuncitation for Min Soo Sohn. I did find that it was 3 seperate words and I was hoping that would help some.
On Honens....I looked up honen on google and got this one from Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H%C5%8Dnen He was a religious reformer.
I have no idea if there would be any emphasis on either syllable.
I did find their web address http://www.honens.com/Competition.aspx Maybe you could call.
Dalit I found in a name pronounciation dictionary and I also found her site.
That's why I said I hope it helps some. |
