|
|
I'm planning to move from a PowerMac G5 to one of the new MacBook Pros, so I can record on the road when needed. Currently, I use the digital in/outs of my G5 to connect an RME ADI-2 A/D - D/A converter. Any idea how to connect this to a MBP?
My other option is to get a Mac-mini to replace the G5 and a used MBP for the road. _________________ www.chriskoprowski.com/en |

The same exact way. The MBP's I/O is digital optical as well as analog.
Same goes for the iMac and Mac Mini. You'll just need these. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Thanks for that! I notice that the 13" MBP only has one audio port...is there a way to get both digital input and output? _________________ www.chriskoprowski.com/en |

I like the ECHO AudioFire2 for many reasons. Small and sounds great are the first two reasons. _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

I checked the specs on the 13" MBP it only supports digital OUTPUT. "Combined headphone/line in (supports digital output)". So will likely get the Mac-mini and a second-hand MBP for the road.
As for portable preamps, maybe the Microport Pro or MXL micmate... _________________ www.chriskoprowski.com/en |
