Check this out:
http://www.edgestudio.com/voice-over/microphone-selector
Apparently, AT4033, Baby Bottle, SM27, and C1/CS1 aren't "broadcast quality" and yet some marginal mics are. Rubbish. Of course this was spammed to me by some site where LA coaches trawl for noobs that shares the same initials as the Velvet Underground.
It doesn't come out as a real customization as much as it's a pimping of the C214 or Avantone CK12, both of which are meh-licious. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

I agree completely, Lance. Seems the only differentiation is is it over $400? Then it's broadcast quality.

What is really funny: THE most hyped microphone in the industry right now is the Hogan VO:1-A. Apparently though, not broadcast quality.
Damage control, damage control...
I also LOL'ed at this one:
"Sony C-800G: This is one of the best microphones money can buy. Used on countless recordings including voice overs. A preamplifier is required. This mic is best used in an environment that has been designed for recording and is quiet. The sound of this mic is robust and clear. Perfect for any VO work."
I feel so enlightened. _________________ Regards,

I was surprised by the addition of the Mojave MA-200 . . . pleasantly surprised. |
