I'm starting to work with a new client who produces short demo videos for online distribution. After notifying me that I was awarded a particular job, my contact passed along a comment from the end client re: my audition:
Quote: | We'd appreciate a little more "pitch" or enthusiasm, if you will, in his voice. He should sound like it's Saturday morning, not Monday afternoon. |
Pitch and enthusiasm I get....but day and time references? _________________ Justin S. Barrett

But by Wednesday things start to pick up a little. And the light at the end of the tunnel, may not be a train comin' at ya.
The direction makes perfect sense. My first though was Saturday morning Cartoon announcer- up with a big smile and a wink. But that maybe more then they want. _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

I really like that direction. It conveys a mindset and point of view, rather than just a technical shift in your tone. _________________ Joe Szymanski

Yeah, it kinda made sense when I first saw it...just an interesting way to phrase it. It's like someone saying, "You're reading it like a sandwich, but what we really want is a taco." _________________ Justin S. Barrett

Saturday morning can be a lot of things:
-Cartoons,
-Let's go hiking!
-Ugh, I gotta do the laundry,
-I'm gonna sleep in,
-Ugh, gotta repair mother-in-law's sink,
-Let's go shopping!
-Hey, we haven't watched the extended Lord of the Rings trilogy in a while...can you load the disc in the machine? I'm wiped....doesn't anybody deliver a breakfast pizza?...I know I promised, but the lawn will still be there tomorrow....
Yeah, just like one of those.
