From a forum for videographers:
Quote:
I use a wireless LAV, had an ME66 for a while but sold it because I did not use it enough, and a standard sure SM58 running through a yamaha mixer which runs into my capture card for voiceovers. If I do not do the voiceover, I gut one of the guys in the radio station down the hall to do it. normal cost is like 25-50 bucks depending on which DJ does it for me.

This guy and his radio djs are in a top 5 market. He's talking about producing TV commercials

first of all, if he guts one of the guys in the radio station down the hall, he's probably looking for the secretary vo back up.

He'll get what he pays for. Radio DJ's are not inherently VO artists.

Fifty bucks is the going rate for gutting a DJ, isn't it?

Just the other day, one of the jobs I saw posted on Voices.com was a VO for a DJ service and I asked myself how much do their own DJs suck if they have to hire someone from a P2P service to do their voicemail or whatever it was?
