Yes... very cool.
And the more people you recognize... the older you get.

I'd seen this great website before. Thanks, Deirdre.

Two celebrities that rank at the top of my list are Dan Ingram and the late, great Ron Lundy, pictured here, at the Electro-Voice RE20 at what was then MusicRadio WABC.

Side note: On the microphone page referenced in this thread, the caption under the photo of Vaughn DeLeath proves as ridiculous the teachings of one self-proclaimed voice-over coach in New York City who says (and this is a direct quote):

Quote:
"In the early days of voice over, microphones were not as sophisticated as they are today, and did not pick up high frequencies, such as low volumes and female voices."

Funny... you would think that the more refined mics used in early broadcast and film - the ones that came after the crude chest-worn mics seen in those historical photos of women telephone operators - would pick up female voices.

(from the Library of Congress): "Vaughn DeLeath - known as the 'Original Radio Girl' because she sang for several of Lee DeForest's demonstrations of radio beginning in January 1920. DeLeath went on to become Station Manager of WDT New York in 1923, and was later a personality on several stations, including the morning host at WMCA."
