I think a couple of us have mentioned that the VOICE2010 website needs a little help. Apparently we're not the only ones who feel that way!

Today's Daily Sucker:
"When you’re 'The World’s Only Conference for Voice Actors,' I guess you feel that you don’t have to try. What isn’t wrong with this site?"

Yeah, it's crazy bad. It looks like it's from 1998. Perhaps these guys are responsible? http://www.magicinet.com/

I'm glad someone alerted WPTS.

They really have to do better.
And the danged endless Constant Contact reminders are unpleasant.

OMG. Someone should nominate that Magicnet site next! And yes, it sure seems like they're cut from the same cloth.

At the time of this writing my primary way of trying to make a living is as an online marketing consultant. I normally have to cast all that aside when it comes to the state of the Web in the voice over industry lest I go distractedly insane.

See, I was so put off by the VOICE logo that I didn't even bother to critique the site. But that is funny.

Maybe VOICE can spend a little time on branding later.

I'm still going, bad brand or not.

PS...maybe we CAN create something better

That logo is such an embarrassment. And what a loss of potential revenue! If they had something cool, relevant, and competently-designed, then how many T-shirts, hats, mugs, totebags, etc. could they sell? Is there anyone at all who would ever want anything with that hot mess on it? (Don't get me wrong-- I'm really excited about going to VOICE again this year, but it seems like "we" can do so much better here!)

And speaking of revenue, how many sponsorship opportunities are they missing out on because of their downmarket branding? Just look at the way that this year's main sponsor appears on the site. Wouldn't you be positively horrified if your brand was presented that way?

You might want to start the talk off with a brief explanation of what a tench is. I Googled it, but some might not have their laptops in the room.
