Pam, got a message from Jobo about da Hawks. He and Eddie V just cinched a new morning gig. Just finalized negotiations with a ChiTown station.

Chicago must be going crazy. I grew up in Ottawa, Il.

I'm going nuts that Pronger, Richards, and Hartnell didn't hoist the Cup. Anybody but them. Smile

love, Love, LOVE the HAWKS!!!

We watched Dave Boland and Pat Kane play their junior career here in Canada for the London Knights.

I'm going to use the 'D' word now for the Chicago Blackhawks...DYNASTY!

With such deep talent, they'll be cup contenders/winners for years to come!

While these are great players, only Hossa, Kane, Bolland, Toews, Campbell and Keith are signed beyond the next two seasons. One of Versteeg or Byfuglien has to be traded to make it under the cap next year. They are built to win right now (in this three year span) and congrats to them for doing it. Mini-dynasty, yes. Look out for teams like Tampa and LA to become amazing in the next few seasons which could make things challenging.

It took everyone quite a bit of time to settle down last night. Pretty amazing. Parade is tomorrow morning and I can imagine not much work will be getting accomplished downtown. The players arrived around 4am and hit some of the late night bars (we have liquor licenses that allow bars to be open until 7am) and then hit a nearby breakfast joint this morning. Can't imagine how they must feel. It was a truly wonderful game.

GO HAWKS!!

Wow....I am a poor excuse for a Chicagoan. I didn't even know what was going on until I started seeing all these FaceBook statuses about birds of prey.

So...some cup thingy got won?

Gotta love the Buffalo connection!
Hometown boy, Patrick Kane, scoring in overtime!
The goal was assisted by former Buffalo Sabre, Brian Campbell.

Here is the Buffalo Sabres' MSG-TV tribute to Patrick Kane. Voiceover by yours truly:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9glVz9_vZqs

I am here in Kelowna, BC where the Hawks' Duncan Keith played junior hockey.
He could be getting the award for Top Defenseman at the NHL awards next week Smile
Another Kelowna connection to Chicago is Kyle Beach. He was picked in the first round,
11th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He scored 50 goals in junior hockey this year
and should be a lock for the Hawks' lineup this upcoming season. Selected right behind
Kyle Beach at #12 in that draft by the Buffalo Sabres was Kelowna Rockets' defenseman
Tyler Myers. He is the odds on favorite to be Rookie Of The Year next week.

Hockey rocks! According to Forbes.com, tickets for the Stanley Cup Final were driving a
higher price on the secondary market than for the NBA Finals!

Here in Hartford we're happy because the Hawks are coached by former Whaler Joel Quenville.

You mean the guys whose name our Mayor can't pronounce correctly? Lordy, the way he butchered that name will go down in the Daley hall of fame.

Attended Hawks games with my dad back in the 60's at the old Chicago Stadium...long, long time fan...

The biggest story related to the Hawks winning the Cup this year was the way Rocky Wirtz literally brought the franchise back from the dead, after the passing of his father....not too long ago, you couldn't give away a Blackhawks ticket...
