WOW!! Another shaker in SoCal. Boy did we feel it. I wonder if DB felt it? Something we get here occasionally. Seems like there has been a lot of earthquake activity here since Easter. This was a 5.4 followed by quite a few aftershocks. It was near Borrego Springs about 45 mi away as the crow flys. _________________ Gregory Best

Just a little shake... rattle... and roll. Nothing broken.
I'm glad it wasn't the fault that runs under Burbank... oops... never mind.

Anybody in session while the quake was rockin'? It probably added a whole new level of realism to your read. _________________ J. Christopher

I've been on the air before during a quake with the mic open. Very calm despite the gi-nor-mous speakers on chains swinging in the corners of the studio.
And once I was basically at the epicenter of a quake just outside Ontario CA doing an on-camera thing - tethered to a desk under a large studio hung with 2Ks. We had just stopped tape because of a "noise" and then it felt like a giant hand was lifting the building up and down. The story we were doing just before we stopped tape was on Earthquake preparedness. _________________ Playing for a living...

Not in a session but shook the house pretty hard. We are a bit east of Connie and Bailey in the rocky hills on granite. We really feel them and are usually a bit close to the epicenter. This time we heard a roar like thunder before we felt it. It felt nearly as strong as the Easter quake felt to us and that one was in Mexico. It was much closer this time on a different fault.
One weather caster said it would be 105 in Borrego Springs today - shake and bake. Borrego is 13 mi from the epicenter. _________________ Gregory Best
