|
|
I've created a website just for my political voice work and I've decided to get creative with the design. Any comments you wish to make on design, color choices, size of the page (it's kind of wide by old standards but I'm guessing OK in the time of the wide monitor?) will be appreciated. I also decided to take my audio demos and put them to some video images so viewers aren't just staring at a little bar going across the page....a good idea? The front page is almost complete and I'm probably working on the others as you read this.
***UPDATE ...After listening to Amy's advice below, I've taken our ideas and melded them into what you'll find at this link below. The original was a deep red background with golden (yellow) type and was a bit shocking to behold....

Many thanks in advance,

Hi Bruce! Very cool. The red background and yellow text aren't working for me, though.
How about #131330 instead of the red--it's a litttle bit brighter version of the blue of the American Flag--and using white text? You could use something along the lines of #2a2a44 for your box borders. Then the pale yellow box could maybe be white with black text.
I think it would be easier on the eyes and look more American. Super concept! Well done. _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

Amy, I found those colors on the web, but not in my palette. Here's a modified version going with the red, white and blue scheme:

Thoughts welcome on the difference.

Did you try pasting the hex for those colors right into the CSS? Everywhere that you see:
#100398 paste #131330
#fdff17 paste #fffffff _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

Cheap old me is using Freeway Express (the low cost version of Freeway Pro) on a Mac and it just gives me Web Safe colors which a more limited collection. When I tried to type your oh so hexy codes in it got confused. I like the blue background and I have some that are almost that dark but they almost look black in final form. I'll keep dinking.

I just made a change to the code above-- the blue for the boxes was too dark. You should be able to paste that right into your CSS source code box, but save what you have now in case you don't like it! _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.

When I say cheaper (simpler) it means I have no CSS capability. Heck I didn't know how to spell CSS until I started this process a few days ago....and code beyond a simple insertion of some markup item scares the bejeebus out of me.
I see where you're going with the scheme and some of the benefits of the dark blue, but it seems so formal to me. Hmmm. Still dinking.
Thank you for all the dinking you do, dear you.

Bruce,
For what its worth, I like the alternate "blue" version of the site that you've prepared a lot more than the red original. _________________ Be well,

I love the copy. So great! This is going to be awesome for you. Too bad I don't have any political audio to send you.
This is a flithy mess, but you're creative... Would you like to go in a direction like this?

I've taken the best of our ideas and combined them I think for a good look:

Input is still welcome.
Thanks!

Bruce,
I like it a lot and like Amy I wish I had some of my political work available to send you. I'll have to poke around in my archives and see if there's anything suitable. _________________ Be well,
