Well, my Telos Zephyr is, anyway.
Does anyone know where I can get a power supply for a Telos Zephyr classic? (It's an Artesyn NLP65-7608G, for the record.) Telos is out of stock, and the only suppliers I've found who sell them have a minimum order of 85 units!
Thanks! _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

I can't believe Telos won't work this out for you. They've always done great by me. _________________ Joe Szymanski

Joe, I've always heard good things, too. But when I called on Friday morning to order a new one, they said "No problem, we have 3 in stock, and we'll send you one overnight for delivery tomorrow morning." They also said that they'd call me back in a couple of hours to give me the tracking number. When I didn't hear from them by 4:45 or so that afternoon, I called them, only to find out that they actually had ZERO in stock, and of course, wouldn't be sending me one.
Today they tell me that it'll be 2-4 weeks until they get any new ones in.
Needless to say, my impression of their customer service is less than stellar. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

Yeah, they have to wait until they get closer to 85 orders before they'll call their supplier. Sheesh.

I believe I read that they had a problem with their power supply on one for the blogs. It might be a good idea to talk to a tech guy over there, and maybe have another backup PSU. _________________ The Blog:

Sheesh indeed. Funny how that works, huh?
And thanks for the suggestion, Mike. I ended up speaking with an incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable tech guy over at Telos (Ted) who was even willing to talk me through re-soldering a different, readily available power supply so that I could rig the Zephyr in order to keep it running while I waited "2-4 weeks" for the right one to arrive. Not being brave enough to try that, and not willing to hope that my Zephyr keeps working, I'm proud to announce that I am now the proud owner of 1.5 Telos Zephyrs!
Yup, I bit the bullet and had another Zephyr delivered overnight (gotta love ebay!) and as soon as those new power supplies get here, I'll have one Zephyr online and another in the on-deck circle. I got it quickly enough that I only had to go to another nearby studio for 2 sessions, and had the new box tested and running by the end of the day. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

In the future, if it is just a power supply problem, most any good tech repair guy could probably get you back up. Most power supplies are not that complicated. |

Indeed, power supplies are usually an easy fix.
It's always to have two of everything, you never know when something is going to crap out on ya. _________________ The Blog:
