Whoa. That was intense...and one more reason I could never willingly take a cruise anywhere. I must say Rod Stewart made the images even better though. _________________ Moe Egan

Mike thanks for sharing...I've never been on a cruise and more the reason I will NEVER go on one! You have to see that video a couple of times to see everything going on. That poor woman in black really smacked her head on that column...ouch! |

I was on one of Uncle Sam's cruise ships for three years. You gotta make sure everything in secured or tied down. _________________ "Bailey"

I'm stunned the furniture wasn't tied down. The last ship I worked on in February-March on had things pretty well secured, except in a couple of the bars. That being said, in 2001 I was working a cruise around So. Am and we hit bad weather. We had three hours notice and everybody went back to their cabins to put the TVs on the floor, etc. It's a wicked wild ride.
I'm guessing that this was a freak wave action that overwhelmed the stabilizers. _________________ Charter Member: Threadjackers Local 420

I'm really surprised more things weren't tied down better. Cruise ships avoid nasty weather, but you can't avoid rogue swells like what I'm guessing they ran into.
Oh, and I got seasick just watching the vid too. I've conquered air and car sickness, but me and ships..... Last time I was on the ocean was on a whale watching boat off of San Diego. I threw up all over a gray whale as we pulled along side to say hello. There's a fine how do you do!
