Em and I are moving house in a couple of weeks and according to the builder who's going to do some work for us (stick a shower in, new sink, separate water drainage pipes etc) he's made several studios for people and has even turned a garden shed into a "room within a room" - RESULT!!
He made new walls, floating floor and ceiling, filled them with sand, acoustic tiled the inside, removed a window and put in a really thick, heavily insulated door. He also knows about "living roofs".
It also means that I can put a drum kit in there and practice happily without annoying the neighbours! I'm thrilled! Can't wait to get that beauty made and done!!
Obviously, when (touch wood) it's being made and finally completed, pictures will be posted on here!! _________________ https://www.darrenaltman.com/

Bob, I called the guy today to introduce myself and discuss the work that needed doing, but when I mentioned the studio that I needed building in the garden, I was amazed to find he knew all about sound-proofing and had created exactly what I need before. A sweet surprise indeed!!
Gonna be fun to work with him and design this baby! _________________ https://www.darrenaltman.com/

Mel, a living roof is basically where you put soil and then grass on the roof, so it's like your lawn and alive! Not only is it "green" and ads to the ecosystem, but it will act as further soundproofing as rain is hitting grass and soil. Clever eh?! _________________ https://www.darrenaltman.com/

Awesome! (We can barely keep our lawns alive here in L.A., so you don't see a living roof 'round these parts, but I love the way they look.) _________________ the Amy Snively family of brands for all your branded thing needs.
