The guy who does those podcasts is a radio imaging producer in Dallas. He's featured a number of the big-name imaging v-o talent in previous podcasts... if that's something anyone is interested in learning about you might want to check his archives: http://www.ryanontheradio.com/category/the-producers-podcast/podcasts/

I would never have guessed he was an imaging producer Rolls Eyes The opening of the podcast was the audio equivalent of the Normandy beach landings. The intro from Ryan lasts about 2 mins 30 secs during which he manages to say little or nothing...it's a radio imaging thing EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

An Aural Assault. Like introducing one's friends to his or her mother with an atomic bomb blast.

I'm sure Marice has some great things to share, but I haven't heard her yet; I'm still pulling shrapnel out of my ears.

Less modulation, more moderation. Wink

I listened to about 75% of that Podcast, and finally shut it down because after all of that, I'm still not sure what Marice does

If she's not or never was a VO artist, it's hard for me to understand how she can give someone who is starting out or someone who is looking to "re-invent" themselves the nuts and bolts breakdown of why they aren't getting any work or as much work as they could be getting. I understand the marketing aspect and the "image", but that seems all so superficial to me.

When you talk, does what you say "grab" people? That's the essence of why people do or don't get hired.

The most dubious statement of all was toward the beginning with her comment that a "coach" that actually is a VO artist themselves, trying to help another VO artist, is like "the blind leading the blind"...I don't get that at all.

I'm impressed. I lost the will to live long before you did.

I totally get that to a point. Marice's techniques work for me. Everyone responds differently to varied teaching methods. Your mileage may vary.

I also thought the aural assault at the open of the 'cast was way over the top.

I'm curious myself. I know Bobbin attended a session last weekend.....any insights? - without giving it all away, of course.

I agree about the opening of the podcast... but I did listen through it all, and still curious.....

"She's pretty well regarded by every humongous name in the world of..."

Steeled by your comments, I held on through the terribly annoying intro to the podcast, but when it came to the above line in the interviewer's opening remarks -- click.

There are few things more annoying to me than listening to a poorly qualified interviewer muck up what might have been a very interesting conversation.

Wow. Interesting that you say that, Bruce. While he might be considered a top-notch imaging guy - although I was never a fan of what I call 'kitchen sink' production (which is production that includes everything but the kitchen sink) - he certainly sounds more interested in hearing his own voice than in anything else. I haven't heard the entire interview yet because, as I go, I'm editing him out as best I can so that Marice's responses remain contextually understandable. I estimate I'll be finished sometime next month.

It was all a bit like a heavy weight political debate during which, Alexei Kudrin the Russian Minister of Finance is asked.

"Who is your favourite character in Eastenders?"

BTW It's Vanessa Gold played by Zoe Lucker ..can't for the life of me think why?
