Anyone have a good solution for getting the mic to be at a slightly higher position in a traveling kit?
Have the great little folding tripod that Bruce, I believe, recommended. Lightweight and strong. But I'd like to have a few more inches of height without adding any significant weight. Besides a phone book under the stand, any thoughts? |

Assuming that you're not supporting anything too heavy, adding a six-inch gooseneck may work for you. I can spend hours reading the On-Stage catalogue! Maybe a short boom would work as well. Anyway, here's a link to the catalogue... http://www.onstagestands.com/catalog/
Cheers

That looks pretty good---and yes, I know the word is spelled Height, but it's early. Thanks |

Yup... five bucks for the win! I've got a longer one (19") which tends to sag under the weight of anything heavier than a SM58; but the shorter one is rigid enough for anything, especially when used primarily as a vertical extension.
Happy to have helped. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish
