Is this mixer primarily geared to VO talents that are local to the New York City area who can go and record for clients in the City? I'm here in the Washington DC area and I'm wondering what benefit there would be for me to go to this.

Phil, if you've been following the thread on this topic in the Chat section you'd know that many folks are coming from across the country and the UK to this event. But to be honest, it's a purely social event....at which business cards are swapped and from that can possibly come future work...but again, it's a social event, not directly an educational one.
