Thought I'd share:

Backup season, folks! And this deal is crazy!
I used a $50 Best Buy gift card I won at my local bank's re-opening so with tax, I ended up paying only about $3 out of pocket.

I've heard that similar drives by Western Digital are more reliable than these Seagate drives (and I say this as a Seagate fan, I have several of them that are older and dead reliable). By all means, check out user reviews on NewEgg.com! I've seen 2 TB external hard drives by Western for as low as $69 at newegg recently. _________________ Best regards,

Big Seagate fan here as well, Tom. Thanks for that info!
As a matter of fact, I still record to a partitioned Barracuda connected via SCSI!

Dan, I just received mine as well. Last night I installed the Memeo Instant Backup (30 day free trial.) And so far so good.
After backing up to the drive, I'll store the backup on my Amazon S3 account as well. But Memeo has been very non-intrusive thus far. The advantage of backing up locally, is that you're not hogging up bandwidth and when you have to send out files to a client that needs it "now," it's nice to not have anything else going upstream.
