My multi-patterned German mistress just got her Christmas present.
As a lifelong Beatles fan, I've always lusted after the custom metal pop screens that Abbey Road Studios created for their mics, as seen in the "All You Need Is Love' video.
Neumann bundled a similar screen with the anniversary U87 they sold a few years ago. I recently discovered a European source that sells a basically identical (genuine Neumann) item a la carte. Despite the ridonk-ulous premium pricing, I had to have one. Some quick iPhone German gear prOn shots here:

BTW, I'm familiar with all the "resonates" and "rolls off the highs" and "should be made of pantyhose material and suspended separately off the stand" arguments. I remain completely unpersuaded.
This thing is dead sexy.
And to all a good night. |

Here is the original beast of which you speak of.

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |
