VO-BB - 19 YEARS OLD!

Just found out this afternoon that Sid Whatley, good-naturedly known as the "Voice of Texas", passed away yesterday. Sid was certainly a huge part of the VO community for many years, and I owe him a great debt of gratitude for giving me a lot of pointers as I developed a newer section of my voiceover business, as well as setting me up with certain clients that he could not service due to existing commitments (very above board), which of course was also a huge boon for me - and he was always forthcoming with info or advice. I just spoke to him last Friday when he sent another client my way as the desired singing style was above his range; some of you may have done so sooner, so it's still a bit of a shock. Sid was a good'un, and he will be hugely missed in the VO community. RIP my friend, and thanks for everything.

This absolutely breaks my heart. Sid was a dear, dear person and an amazing talent. The world will was enriched by his presence and will be poorer by his passing. May he rest with God in peace.
