Well, it appears my Musicam Prima LT, after six years of faithful, flawless service is kaput. I'm guessing it's related to audio output and or internal modem because I can hook up and see my audio lighting up the box, but no one can hear me. I'm sending it to the factory, but they haven't made this unit for a while now and they're running low on specific replacement parts they tell me.

If you have a lead on a nice used one or it's time to unload one of yours let me know. I'm just not sure about investing in a new one at the moment.

I've seen the one for $1450 on EBay...he's been selling it for a long time so I'll pass for the moment.

Many thanks,

Bruce

Bruce--It's probably a long-shot, but is there any chance it's a long-distance provider issue ? I had a similar problem with one provider--might have been Verizon, maybe AT&T--where the far end could not hear me, but I could hear them. In my case, switching providers solved it. I thought maybe since you recently moved, maybe...(PS, my box also Prima LT)

Thought of you as I made a giant pot of your recipe of Black-Eye Pea soup today

Bruce, I know that you are not looking to invest at the moment, but when you are, I have a great line on new Zephyr Extremes. From Telos, or other dealers you would pay between 4500 and 5 grand. I get them for 3,300. I know it is not that much of a deal, but you can't go wrong with new equipment. I do have an old Zephyr, but need to send it in to get it cleaned since it has been sitting for ever. Just putting it out there.

It's official from the provider that everything's cool from their end right to the back of my box...they even tested at the end of the phone cable that goes to the codec. Thanks to Zak's recommendation I'm going to try and reset the whole box, and reinstall the internal terminal adapter just in case it suffers from static cling, or something like that.

Hey Bruce!

For a backup, check out the Audio TX stuff. It's what me and Pete use and we have no issues at all and it's basically software and an ISDN terminal box. A heck of alot cheaper than a new codec "box".
