|
|
I have a pair of Mackie MR5 monitors that sit about 6-inches from each side of my iMac. It seems they are picking up noise (RF?) from the Mac. It's really obvious when I scroll a page in a browser. Yes, I know, WEiRD!
I've tried using a non-Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, swapping out the cables that run from my audio interface to the monitors and moving the monitors further away from my computer. I'm at a loss.
Any suggestions on eliminating the noise would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem before, it just went away. Not sure what caused it.
Every once in a while when I click on something, I'll hear a little static click on my old workhorse tube radio. Very odd.
What interface are you using?
If it's USB try plugging into another port.
Try shutting down and rebooting. _________________ The Blog:

It's clearly monitor specific. I can't hear it through headphones running out of the interface. The noise persists after reboot.
Could the cables be the culprit? I'm using Monster Prolink.
The interface I'm using is the t.c. electronic desktop konnect 6 via firewire. _________________ J. Christopher

I believe Firewire remains powered after shut down on the Mac.
Unplug the firewire and plug it back in. See if that helps.
Did this suddenly just start?
Check your cables and make sure power cables are not crossing over audio lines.
Like i said this happened to me once, and it went away, but i don't recall what caused or fixed it. _________________ The Blog:

Same thing going on here with my MacBook Pro and a radio. It only makes the noise when I scroll.
I only use the MacBook when traveling, so it's not a problem for me. _________________ John Weeks Voice Overs

If you have your BlueTooth turned on, turn it off.
I think that's what fixed it for me. _________________ The Blog:

John- I'm sorry to read that you've hit this too. Glad, though, that I'm not alone!
Mike- I tried using a non-Bluetooth mouse instead and got the same nasty noise. {{{heavy sigh}}} Since it seems to be monitor issue, do you have any suggestions for cables to run between my audio interface and Mackie monitors?
Thanks!

Try turning the brightness of your monitor all the way up. _________________ Jeff Berlin

You can try some quad 4 cables. _________________ The Blog:
