I have pro tools but for the life of me cannot figure out how to record Skype phone calls. Looking for an answer if anyone can help. Do I need to get separate software to record Skype? Thanks! _________________ jonahcummings |

What are you using as your sound interface? Do you have a mixer? _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

If you want to record yourself and the remote party, I'm not sure how to go about that with just an Mbox. If you have a mixer available it's not too difficult to set up.
I don't know ProTools, so maybe there's some way to make it handle what you're describing.
There are Skype recording solutions out there, I used Pamela for a while (www.pamela.biz). _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

Mbox Out2 --> Mac Built-in Audio Input
Mbox In2 <-- Mac built-in audio output
Assign Mac built in audio to Skype.
Setup PT session to route audio correctly.
Voila. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Yep, I use Call Recorder myself on every call, but it won't help get audio into Skype if you use Pro Tools.
@Pam: It's a matter of routing signal in PT so that the mic feeds the output that's connected to the other audio device input, and the return from the other audio device doesn't get mixed back in, creating a loop. It's called creating a "mix minus". _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
