okay I am again considering coming out of the booth and treating

my room. Does anyone know of a good resource for windows and doors

for sound proofing/reduction?

I know there are lots of companies that

come up on a Google search, but it can be difficult to separate the

wheat from the chaff.

Rob I think we've been down this road before.

First before you haul off and start doing a bunch of foolish things understand what kind of noise you are trying to mitigate, and how loud this noise is.

If I remember correctly you have a wood clad home, so if you do get a window that's rated at 49 STC, your walls may only be 38 STC. And windows still may have acoustical holes, this were specific frequencies can pass through as if the glass is not there.

Also get ready to drop some coin, depending on the size and function of the window, you can be starting at $1500 -$2000 just for the window plus installation. Then if it is not installed correctly all will be for not.

Most modern windows simply reduce noise because they are more air tight.

So as I suggested the first time, seal at around the windows and add a 1/2" pice of laminated glass over window opening and seal that too.

Door: All you need is a hour rated fire door mounted on an exterior jamb with kerf weather striping and raise butt-edge sill.

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong.
