I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from work (such as it is) for about 3 or 4 weeks, after this Friday the 28th. My left eyelid has been drooping since December. They did a c-scan and found a “mass” underneath the eyelid. It doesn’t go behind the eye, but they want to remove it (the mass) and do a biopsy. I go in for surgery this Friday morning (outpatient). I’ll have a black eye and stitches for about a week.
To make things interesting, my wife is getting surgery on the following Thursday, May 4th. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer about a month ago. It is at stage one. They tell us that is good, because they caught it at a very early stage. Her recovery could be three to six weeks, depending on they extent of surgery necessary when they get inside.
All prayers and good thoughts will be gratefully appreciated. _________________ "Bailey"

Warm wishes to both of you from the Southwest for speedy recoveries. You need a good working winker to wade through this website. _________________ VO-BB Member #31 Enlisted June, 2005

Wow! What a Monday.
Bailey - my absolute best to you AND your wife. Talk about timing! Many years ago, I wrote something which most deem nonsensical. However, to me, it makes perfect sense, especially in times like these:
What a wonderful bird the frog are...
If he didn't have wings, he wouldn't bump into...
What he ain't got very much of.
I don't expect everyone to get that... hell, I don't expect most to get that... but, it's meant with the best intentions. It's kind of synonomous with my absolute favorite line from the series M*A*S*H:
Dr. Sidney Friedman: "Ladies and gentleman - take my advice. Pull down your pants and slide on the ice".
Okay - now, I'm scared. I just proof-read this post and I'm becoming confused.
All the same - get well soon, both of you. |
