Well folks, just when you thought the voice over profession couoldn't be embarassed any further than it has... drum roll please - It's golden voiced Ted starring in his own reality show that will feature his life in a Los Angeles halfway house, as he goes out on auditions, hits studios for gigs, takes coaching and hangs out with fellow Los Angelean voice actors.
There's a lot of people banking on this, so chances are looking better that Ted will have a more difficult time getting to his crack pipe and hooch.
If the world didn't aleeady have a perverse and totally distorted outlook on voice over already, they sure will now.
After the first 2 episodes, you can expect the remainder of the 21 million unemployed people in the U.S. to run out and buy USB microphones and a copy of Auberger's book.
I think I'll just start telling people I'm a pimp instead of a voice actor. It somehow sounds more respectable. _________________ j.s. gilbert

As much as I like the guy and the story, you had to see this coming- his fall and the networks jumping at a reality show opportunity...it's kind of sickening really. I still wish the guy all the best and continue to pray for him. I hope he does well. _________________ Does life start at 40? |

Holy hell. Get ready for the noob tsunami of mediocrity and avalanche of 'tell me how you do it' phone calls. I do so love those.

It's especially annoying to someone like myself, who is just starting in this field but takes it extremely seriously (as any of you who have interacted with me probably know).
I anticipate a "CSI Effect" equivalent with people thinking it's both sexy and easy, and that the P2P sites are going to have a field day at the expense of quality.
Not to mention the fleece jobs offering the latest "master class" for outrageous fees are going to be all over the place too. _________________ Corey "Vox Man" Snow

To paraphrase the old bumper sticker:
"Please don't tell mom I'm a voice actor.
She thinks I play piano in a whorehouse." _________________ I'm still...
