My daughter's fishtank in the room above. Lovely rumble that I could only hear when recording.

I need to set up a switch down here so I can turn off the water and air pumps while I record, heh.

Also learned that a lower signal coming into the DAW is OK as long as it's clean, because adding gain there meant much less amplification of any audio chain noise.

The lessons, they continue! Smile

I found a wireless switch at Home Depot that I use for the tree lights at Christmas time. It's RF rather than infared.....that might work.

If it was a low enough rumble, you could just EQ it out. There's nothing in the low registers that's useful for voice, anyway.

or adaptive noise reduction. Just sample the sound and apply the noise reduction.

Try putting the pump on some foam, to decouple the rumble.

If it's below 75Hz use a lowpass filter.
