Someone is on a crusade in San Fran.

Here is another:

And another:

I get the point; however, I did go the freebie route once in order to gain experience. It turned into an amazingly lucrative promo job. I rolled the dice and won. If you are just starting out, sometimes hooking up with another fledgling company can create opportunities and strong relationships for all concerned. The trick is to pick a winner.

When I went to (cough) broadcasting school, sometime ago, an instructor shared a gem of wisdom with me: "There are two kinds of jobs in radio: One for money, the other for experience." (and boy, did radio give me a ton of "experience." badumbump) Laugh

Wait! Use this!

Smile

Chances are good that that listing will be reported enough times to be removed by tomorrow.

MAN THIS GIVES YOU SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT,.

There was an quote that was attributed to one of the founding fathers that read "if we don't hang together we most assuredly will hang seperately." In this case that seems to be certainly true, the question is what to do when your hanging on for that forst regular steady gig?

Ben Franklin said it.

What a great man.

Regarding first gigs: if it's a gig where others are being paid, don't do it for free.

If it's a gig where NO ONE is getting paid, like a college project, do it for free if you like.
