Okay, I just read George's FAQ on his site here:
http://eldorec.com/vo-tech-faq/computer-hardwareos/should-i-upgrade-my-computers-os-or-software.html
And it says holding off on the newest OS and software versions are recommended. I have done so for a long while...but I am still on Tiger 10.4 with my studio tower and Pro Tools 7.3 and I really would like to use this beast of a computer I have for more than just VO (since I no longer produce video).
So, I bought the upgrade to go up to Pro Tools 9. I also bought Snow Leopard OS to install as well. The reason....I bought a pretty amazing virtual instrument bundle called Komplete 7, which I want to use with Pro Tools for recording my own music etc. Tons of amazing instruments and sounds. Komplete doesn't jive with Tiger....and from what I understand PT7.3 doesn't jive well with Snow Leopard...or isn't supported.
So......I have been reading around and things seem to be working well with Snow Leopard and PT9. I use a Digi002. Any advice from anyone else that has moved to both PT9 and Snow Leopard?
I also use Source Connect from time to time and it seems to be supported as well.
And, I have my main hard drive backed up as well.
Any tips from a tech trailblazer would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much! _________________ Ben

I've been on Snow Leopard & PT 8.0.4cs2 for a good while with no issues. I can't see why PT9 would be any different. You are on an Intel machine, correct....ProTools no longer supports PowerPC Macs.
I'm sure you have, but if not, be sure to check the Avid Forum: http://duc.avid.com/index.php _________________ Brian Haymond

So, I should be good to go? Kidding....
Thanks again Brian and everyone else. Everything worked out well with the exception of a slight delay after installing Snow Leopard and not getting my bluetooth mice and keyboard to work. I just needed to go in to the bluetooth settings and delete the devices and go through the set-up bluetooth device assistant again to re-setup the devices to get them to work again. _________________ Ben
