Two days ago broadband escaped while I was in the shower. Following an extensive search and many phone calls to BT it was discovered just outside Buckie's main telephone exchange.

Happy that I was once again back on a full speed internet I allowed my PC to upgrade my downstream, upstream my downgrades, optimise my defrags, recluster my cloisters and invade Poland.

Of course I was really, really busy loving my job, auditioning my marketing and branding myself on social media through the medium of contemporay dance. I needed to contact a number of people due to the new secret project upon which I am working upon. The PAPA (Pointless Audio Publishers Association) are looking to put on their site youreallyexpectmetopayforthis.com a number of colouring books for children as MP3s (Virtual crayons not supplied). Go to the site and try the first book "Grandpa's Hip Operation went horribly wrong". Sorry I digress, well I would if I knew what that meant. Contact people, yes that was it. I know I said out loud, I'll Skype people using Skype - Nothing. No one wanted to speak to me. Anyone who has ever met me will understand why that is not particularly surprising but as we were trying to communicate in the virtual world I entered into the spirit of things and pretended that EVERYONE on my list was a close personal friend who I thought was awesome. Nothing. I was slightly puzzled by this, even Big Marv on death row following my greeting "love your work dood, awesum serial killer man" ignored me - I KNOW HE'S THERE! He does not get bored to death by local TV personalities from Alaska until next week.

Well, as it turned out my Skype only APPEARED to be working, it was not! "CLICK HERE TO REPAIR" it told me. I did. Oh wow a brand new state of the art Skype! So clean and new is it that I appear to have no contacts. Could this be the way ahead?

If you would like to add me to your contacts I am Voiceoverist. If you wouldn't there are over 7 billion people in the world just like you and I am SO not hurt.

The takeaway: Don't shower.

Skype says you're still there. Looks like you may need to re-add all of us, not the other way around.

Oh, and good luck with that meeting in May. I'm sure you'll smell fabby.

Oh boy!

do I rate? dare I reach out and skype the master?

I fear I am still but a naive, a mere waif in the woods practicing my craft with a few projects a month.

I am improving my room and my equipment, singing often, (trying to practice my trumpet and guitar daily...) and I watch every voiceoverist youTube video I can get my hands on.

But still. Skype? Gosh. What if he wants to ask me a question? or to offer personal advice...

I'm giddy with excitement! I'LL DO IT! Smile

What a coincidence, I play the voice of Barrister Tom in "Grandpa's Hip Operation went horribly wrong".

conniet_vo (I see you in my list Philip)

It must be time for trouble in the lines! My ISDN lines were not behaving and apparently they were frayed at the pole - shielding disintegrated from years of clean air and good living.

10 minutes before I left for an ISDN session booked in a nearby studio due to being unable to commit to my studio being up and running, the AT&T tech fixed the lines. My good buddy Bob Souer did a quick check with my studio and everything seems back in order.

I'm "monkeywork.com"

just in case. I'm good for information about all sorts of things. Just ask and if I don't know, I'll help find out.
