Did 8 VO jobs in 5 sessions yesterday. Two radio commercials for BMW dealers and two others that were neither about or for the first two, I contributed vocally (not singing) to a new dance track, narrated a documentary about Istanbul dealing with its history from around 1923 until Thursday tea time. I promoted via the medium of radio a festival of light in London, waxed lyrical about the mechanism of action of a new drug which makes people who have something wrong with them have it unwronged to the point of being righted. To round things off I did something so ****ing dull it made my the Twoots on Twitter seem interesting, not for long obviously.
My bank wanted to conduct a business review (sell me sh*t I didn't need) and I was asked to prove my income so I sent them the letters they send me detailing payments made into my account by foreign clients. I asked why they couldn't simply read the credits column on my account.
"Well, you need to prove it" said Kate the Business Manager.
"I understand that a bank which managed to lose over £800 billion is not going to trust the judgement of the people who run it. Why not put as the answer to the question how much profit did the customer make last year? More than WE made?"
Whilst doing an expenses update yesterday evening I had to find out how much a 2 hour ISDN session with a a studio in Spain cost so I checked my phone bill online using the special online phone bill checking facility provided by my phone company. If you're interested in round figures it cost me Demi Moore or for a straight figure it cost me Keira Knightley. what was interesting about this investigation was my discovery that a UK landline to a US mobile phone call lasting a over couple of hours cost me in US dollar terms a mere 39 cents. |

Friday, I went to a baseball game, came home and went in the hot tub. Then ate a pork chop and green beans with the Mrs. and watched a little telly.
I was careful not to yell too much at the baseball game or at the Mrs., so that my voice would be okay. I'm going to do a v.o. later, when I feel like it. It's probably going to take me 15 minutes. I plan on taking a nap afterwards. Maybe go in the hot tub before the nap.
Here's a tip. If you receive any unwanted calls from bankers, financial institutions or voice actors wanting your secret forumal for success, simply hum "Girl From Ipanema", until they hang up. _________________ j.s. gilbert
