I'd be interested in knowing the thoughts of anyone who decides to give the reasonably priced RE320 a try...$299, hmmmm

Yeah— I saw that this morning and it looks spiffy enough! I wonder how it will sound.

I'm quite interested....the manufacturer report is "glowing" as one might expect.

Here are some clips I found of if compared with the RE 20 and the RE27
NB Pro Audio's sounds on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

It's just as buzzy and fuzzy as it's older sisters- maybe more.

On a personal note:
Save your money and get a good condenser mic.

Despite the comments from mike who really cant say a good word about the RE series, I happen to like the new RE-320. It looks like and feels like the RE-20 but sounds closer to the RE-27 with the ND magnet capsule. It's crisper on the high end and does pull back on the mid ever so slightly, giving it a bit of sparkle at the top. It fits my voice well and looks pretty darn cool, especially in the 309 shockmount. It doesn't have the same bass rolloff switch as the RE-20. It does have a setting switch for vocal and instrumental, and there IS a big difference in the sound, making this well suited for musical setups. If you like the RE-20 and want a bit more top end without using an EQ, then this could be what you're looking for. My broadcast background makes me a bit partial to this brand and style of mic so don't think I am totally impartial. Of course, I am not a fan of LDC mics with my current studio setup, and the off axis rejection makes this very suited for an imperfect sound situation. I think this is my new favorite mic, although it was hard putting "the 20" in the road case and in the cabinet. I felt like I was losing a good friend.
