I like to give my pop filter a good scrub down now and then when it starts looking a little like a used furnace filter. Beyond that, I've always waged the dust war in my studio. It's amazing how quickly you start seeing a layer collect on anything black. _________________ Joe Szymanski

For cleaning speaker cones, just a light duster. I have a badger hair bush that I use for my hats that does wonders. Or just a light blow of compressed air.
If you have a mixer, blow out the pots too. _________________ The Blog:

Acoustics are counter-intuitive. If one thing is certain about acoustics, it is that if anything seems obvious it is probably wrong. |

Never use a powdered detergent when you wash your microphones and keyboards in the dishwasher. It can really screw them up.
I never use a pop screen so I'm always blowing the shmutz out of my microphones, which keeps them nice and clean.
Best advice: Never, ever let me unplug and replug in your ISDN box or other similar equipment.

Aaaaaagh!!! I hope you're not using compressed air to blow out your mic. That's one sure way to damage the diaphragm. _________________ The Blog:

Well, that's an entirely different situation then. _________________ The Blog:

My lawn clipping blower is rated at 150 mph on high speed. Now thats the way to do it... blows the odd stuff that builds up on the diaphram into the next zip code! _________________ If attacked by a mob of clowns go for the juggler.

Just so there's no misunderstanding here, I AM talking about a mic diaphram. _________________ If attacked by a mob of clowns go for the juggler.

Sorry 'bout that... Humor need be nothing more than a vision. You have to see it for yourself. Apologies to hi-jack your thread.
Peace. _________________ If attacked by a mob of clowns go for the juggler.
