The Audies were great. Fabulous to be in a room with so many beautiful, wonderfully talented and genuinely nice people. Between APAC and the Audies, just about everyone was there. (except Kafer)

The after party was in a fantastic venue -the Hudson Hotel. Amazing room - 40 foot high ceilings with a catwalk and books all around everywhere you looked up and black and white pictures of cows in different hats. I have no idea why - but it worked.
It was tons of fun -- so much so some of us - ahem - closed the place! Great fun hanging with Cris Dukehart and Byron Wagner then Cris and I got breakfast with Joe Hurley - who picked up the Audiobook of the Year Award for 'Keith Richard's LIFE ' which he narrated along with Johnny Depp and Richards. And here's where 6 degrees comes in - or less. Turns out Joe is friends with some old (musician) friends of mine - from my teens. Haven't seen them in decades but we all reconnected about a year or so ago on fb. It never ceases to amaze me how worlds collide in the least likely of places and moments.

Wish Adam (Dummkopf) could have stayed the extra day for the Audies - We missed you! And we never did get that picture we were supposed to!

It was a really really great time. There are pictures somewhere. I don't know if they're in focus Shocked

Someday I have to save up enough pennies to get to those Audies. Sounds like an amazing time, Melissa. So cool about your musician friends!
But I never miss APAC. I always learn something valuable -- and nobody's selling anything. There are some fine people in the audiobook world indeed.
