www.philipbanks.com

If you have a moment would you check it out and see if it works ok.

It's how I want it to look and sound and appears to function just fine and dandy ...but you never know!!!

Philip, I like it!

The only things that bug me a bit are the following:

1. When I clicked on a demo link after I had already started another demo playing, I could cause two demos to play at the same time, their sound overlapping. I feel like I would rather that clicking on a second link would stop the first one playing before launching the second, and not require me to manually close the mini-player that had already launched. I think the second clip, when clicked on, should just steal the mini-player session. I tend to believe other listeners would be lazy like me in that way.

2. When I click on a video thumbnail, I then have to click it again once it appears in the center to start it playing. I wish it would start right away without a second click. This isn't really broken, but more of a suggestion for streamlining things if possible.

Also, you have a typo in the top paragraph where it says " including :-" . At first glance, I thought you had neglected to complete a smiley face, then thought better of that likelihood. Rolls Eyes

Regardless of the above, I think it's a great update from your previous site version. Nice work!

Jen

W00T awesome, Dood! But I recommend against justified type. It reduces legibility. I guess that's why it's called "justified" and not "justifiable"...

I really like having all your different media available on one page.

Whatever the mechanism is that loads the You Tube Vids in the central window causes the whole page to blink. Not a dealbreaker, just a bit disconcerting.

There is a hyphen after the colon following "I have worked for the best including :-"

I think your photo is stretched vertically.

The little TV icon in the upper left is not a clickable element, and probably shouldn't be there, underneath other clickable buttons.

Overall, I thinks it's good looking, accessible, and easy to use.

What makes me chuckle is the last line of text above the youtube image when viewed in the context of the youtube image.

I love this bit - "Some say I am amongst the best voice artists in the world, others say that I ought to shave"

But I didn't notice how it tied into that first YouTube vid until you mentioned it. Now I love it even more Laugh

worked for me! i like the "all in one page" arrangement. and no - you should shave only if the bank is coming.

Philip, you could design your website with a crayon and stick people and it would still fly because you have the pipes and VO pedigree to make it so.

My two questions... probably just me... does the "Lex Luthor Philip" add or deduct from the website? Would a more conventional portrait add or deduct from the website?

Does the photo work? It looks like me, I quite like the photo and the mood says something about who I am. Conventional portrait, would be the same as the same as the same and that's not what I'm about.

Does that make sense?

I may not be the best person to ask, since you already KNOW you've impressed me, but I think having an image YOU feel represents YOU is far more important that anything "conventional".

It's so informative— it is a quick glimpse of the person and personality.

When I click on a video, like the Philip Banks TV I might use a popup like the audio demos so that the page doesn't reset and you have to search and scroll down to press play and watch, or, just adjust the size of the videos to fit the small size. Since you are using Youtube the size is an easy adjustment in code. I get why you want to have a larger size video (like all men do) but this is about the voice...yes? Wink

I like it just fine and am too lazy to press all of the buttons.
